Hello to all our members and supporters!
In the light of Covid-19, like everyone else, the SPNS is making some adaptations.
Our AGM was held ‘virtually’ on 2 May, and committee meetings are temporarily being held via Zoom. This has the advantage that all the members can attend, regardless of where they live!
Our next conference is planned for November in Clackmannanshire, marking the publication of the latest volume in the Survey of Scottish Place-Names, but the viability of the conference by that point, or the form it would take, are still far from certain. The Skye conference, which had to be cancelled this year, is now pencilled in for 22 May 2021.
The Newsletter will continue to be published, and members wishing to contribute articles or shorter items to the Autumn 2020 issue should contact the Editor by mid-August on newsletter@spns.org.uk.
To receive a copy of the Newsletter, you need to be a member of the Society. For information on how to join, please contact the Treasurer on membership@spns.org.uk. The basic rate is £6 per annum, or £15 for three years.

With very best wishes to you all – we look forward to seeing you before too long.
